<font color="#FFFFFF" size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Rob and Barbara Hughes have lived together in the Taos area since 1974, raised a large family, and participated in several Christian fellowships since 1980. Concerning their artwork they feel that, “All that is good and beautiful is a gift to us from God who created the heavens and the earth and all that we experience. Even our ability to create is part of that gift, and through beautiful artwork our senses are awakened and sharpened to perceive more of the infinitely creative mind of God. All color and form, logic and proportion, sound and movement, were all ordained from the beginning. When we paint a landscape on a carved piece of wood, or weave and awesome design in multicolored beads of stone and glass taken from the earth, we are taking the materials God has given, and reshaping them into designs He has already done. We thereby affirm and honor God by our artwork.” Rob and Barbara work together on the wood and beadwork sculptures, Barbara doing the beadwork and Rob doing the wood. The painted wood carvings are by Rob. The beadwork is made from various combinations of semi precious stones and glass. The Hughes’ work has shown in several galleries and shops in Taos, as well as in the Taos Open Show and the Taos Invites Taos Show. </font>
